Andre Walker an African American Major League Baseball Player is the best player in the game today. He plays for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He has fans worshiping him and his aggressive style of play. He is arrogant, short tempered and loves his money. There are even rumors that Andre has been using steroids to enhance his game. Currently he is dealing with the fact that his contract with the Dodgers is up and he needs to make the decision weather or not to stay in LA or leave to go play for the team offering a lot more money. Also on this day he finds out that his younger brother Darrel who is also a Baseball player in the minor leagues is diagnosed with a kidney disease. He can donate a kidney to his brother or opt to find another donor. He has some big decisions to make. To make matters worse his wife Hope and son Andre Jr. have left him because of his constant womanizing. Andre is digging himself deeper and deeper into a hole he may not be able to get out of. To get away from his problems Andre decides to take the field. As he is running out onto the field he gets hit in the head with a Baseball. He falls to the ground and is knocked out cold.

When Andre awakes he’s on deck about to hit. He looks around and notices he is the only black player on the field. The year is 1945 and Andre is in Birmingham, Alabama playing for the Birmingham Barons. He is a black player playing on an all white minor league baseball team. The team Batboy, Willy helps walk Andre up to the plate to hit. Willy from then on is there to guide Andre on his journey through The Past. On this Journey Andre Walker will cross paths with some of the greatest Negro League Baseball players ever to play the game. Andre and Willy develop a friendship that only brothers can share. Willy helps Andre learn the things about life that he failed to see in the future. Andre will face issues modern day Americans take for granted. During this time of confusion Andre will fall in love with his ( Caucasian ) wife who had left him in the future, fall in love with the game of Baseball again, appreciate the fans, and discover a brothers love is great to receive, but it is better to give. And in the end Andre is given a second chance to make things right.
